Well the Poll has spoken, and I've been dying to have an opportunity to host another contest, so here we go!!
This Contest Closes For Judging on June 20th! at 11:59 PM PAC time!
I may be swayed to extend it if there are enough people asking, but I think 3 weeks is a pretty good time!
ALL ENTRIES:
-All entries will become official Hoodbeasts when the contest ends, nobody will have to nullify their entry if it has been accepted into the contest folder!

Right now, there will be One overall winner and Eight (8) runners up!
OVERALL WINNER: -Overall Winner will get a Magic Ticket! This magic ticket can be used on the MYO for the contest or a future Hoodbeast. It gives the Hoodbeast the ability to use an offensive/defensive magic!

JUDGES
Judging will be done by yours truly! Possibly there will be a second Judge if one is available.
Judging will be based on Creativity and Story/personality!
We want your Hoodbeast to look fabulous, but Story is also very important to me personally, and it should be to you, too!
By no means is it required, but keep in mind notes about your MYO's personality, quirks, likes, dislikes, history, etc! Good story is half of a Great character!

Designing Rules!
Be a member of the Mantelbeast group! Nobody Please read and look at ALL Hoodbeast information BEFORE you begin designing! When joining the contest, please link this contest journal in your entry! (other forms of advertising are allowed as well, and are very appreciated! The more the merrier!) There are no trait restrictions, as Hoodbeasts do not have specific traits. However, remember that they are not very magically powerful! Things like wings would not actually allow them to fly. There are no colour restrictions! If the colour/pattern can be found on clothing, it is allowed! You may base your Hoodbeast off of an existing piece of clothing that you like or own! (but please, no graphic t-shirts that contain copyright material) Your Hoodbeast must follow anatomy restrictions talked about in this journal: Hoodbeast Open Species Updates and Info (No hard object base-bodies, no advanced magics, no solid faces, etc) Please read this journal thoroughly! Please refrain from giving your Hoodbeast things like solid faces, hard horns, cracks or tears in their body, glowing smoke/gas (glowing eyes are fine), hard features like scales/plates/spines. Leather is ok! You are allowed to enter a max of 2 MYOs in the contest, but only ONE of them can win or become a runner up. both can end up being honorable mentions, though! Submissions must be full colour! any medium is alright as long as it shows the whole design! You can draw your Hoodbeast in Bipedal or Quadrupedal form for the contest, or do both! Your Hoodbeast can have a Beast form, too, but please be mindful of the lore and how Beast forms are achieved! It is very unlikely that a young naiive Hoodbeast would have a Beast form. -----

Species Announcement: Mantelbeasts, Rascalbeasts
Hello all. Unfortunately due to many factors like health, business, lack of free time, and just general Life Things, I've made the decision to discontinue operation of my species, and curation of the masterlist. This also means that I am officially retiring my TwoRealms species (Mantelbeasts, Rascalbeasts, and Hoodbeasts). It is probably no surprise to everyone that I have fallen off completely with the creation of my TwoRealms species, engagement with the community, and Lore/worldbuilding. Despite my continuing love for the species and worlds I've made, I just do not have the time and energy to continue cultivating and managing the species as an active community. For that I am truly sorry. I know a lot of people were upset when I retired Huo Hy-am, and I do not doubt there are people that will be upset and disappointed that I am retiring TwoRealms as well. However, unlike Hy-am, I am not disallowing the continued creation of TwoRealms species! I am making them all Open Species,

edit: i genuinely understand the reason behind changing over to eclipse. the old site was outdated, the coding and format was 20 years old and hard to work with. still, it doesn't change that they could have made an effort to copy the old design onto an up-to-date version. fix whats broken, yes, but dont change what isn't broken. I really had hoped that eclipse wouldnt be so bad, but fr unless the team gets their act together and makes the site actually functionally superior to the old one, Idk how much longer I can survive on here. it hurts me to say that bc like many others, I loved deviantart and I had built a great presence here and have many people I love interacting with. But it just... sucks so bad now. They've gotten rid of all the features I enjoyed and the navigation is batshit I already have been losing my will to update here very much, and have all but fully moved to twitter ( twitter.com/battytangfang , twitter.com/spockirkcoy ) Most likely I wont be doing much here
